As part of an international exhibition exchange, 7 artists from the Center for Emerging Visual Artists (CFEVA) in Philadelphia will exhibit their work at Broadstone Studios, 22 Harcourt Terrace Dublin 2, as a featured exhibition in the OPEN Programme for PhotoIreland Festival taking place 1-31 July 2012.

Adapt:  Contemporary Photography & Video, curated by Amy Stevens, will feature works by Noah Addis, Joelle Jensen, Allison Kaufman, Michael Mergen, Tim Portlock, Jeffrey Stockbridge, and Kimberly Witham.

The artists in this exhibition are dealing with the concept of adaptation, whether on a global, local or personal level. Changes in spaces, both public and private are a common link to the works. Documentation of this process of change is shown in unique and thought-provoking ways through photography, digital art and video.  This exhibition was made possible through funding and in-kind donations from The Center for Emerging Visual Artists and Broadstone Studios.

Curator Amy Stevens has participated in both group and solo shows throughout the US, Canada, Ireland and China. Her work is part of the permanent photography collection at the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston. In the summer of 2010, Stevens completed the Art@Work artist residency program in Roscommon, where the idea to have an exchange between Irish and American artists was formed with fellow Irish artist and curator, Angela Duignan.

The first part of this international curatorial exchange, Interchange: Contemporary Irish Photography and Video, was held at The Center For Emerging Visual Artists (CFEVA) in May of 2012 in Philadelphia.  Angela Duignan curated this exhibition with works from Irish artists Michelle Browne, Padraig Cunningham & Linda Shevlin, Angela Duignan, Michael Fortune, Niamh O’Connor, Mandy O’Neill, and David J. Pierce.  This exhibition was made possible through funding and in-kind donations from Culture Ireland and The Center for Emerging Visual Artists.
